Over the course of five days, MediaCom met with some of the brightest minds in the industry – including tech giants Apple, Facebook, Google and Twitter – and gained many important insights into the future of digital marketing. 1. BE MOBILE FIRST

The age of the PC is over and tech brands are mobile first but increasingly device neutral.

2. MAKE NATIVE ADVERTISING

Advertising that adds value to the consumer experience isn’t advertising, it’s content and far more effective.

3. BE MORE PERSONAL

The message you send will be more relevant if it reflects the needs and previous experiences of your target consumer.

4. DATA+TECH+CONTENT = SUCCESS

The perfect formula for marketing success involves getting data right, having the correct tech in place and the effective content.

5. REMEMBER TO DUAL SCREEN

There are tools that link what’s happening on tablet, mobile and the TV. Shazam and Twitter are just ways to keep track.

The best ideas may not be fully formed when they arrive. Allow space in your processes to take a chance and experiment.

3. MAKE TALENT WANT TO WORK FOR YOU

Remember that it’s not always about the money. Sometimes it’s about the opportunity to achieve and make a difference.

4. IGNORE STRUCTURES AND FOCUS ON CONNECTIONS

Big companies naturally create siloed cultures. Start-ups don’t.

5. UNDERSTAND DATA AND HOW IT CAN DRIVE YOUR BUSINESS

Marketers need to be able to talk tech to truly generate the insights and value that data and analytics can bring to their brands
